Hell Yeah Tour! On the Road

MK Finds Out That Memphis Knows How to Party

The Hell Yeah! Tour came through Memphis this week, just in time to catch the wrath of tropical storm Cindy. But thanks to the recommendation of Outdoors Inc., we dodged the bulk of the weather and the headache that camping would have provided. Instead of camping in the forest, where tree limbs as big as telephone poles came crashing down and 4+ of rain expected, we decided to rally to the town, specifically to Outdoors Inc. This. Crew. Rocks. Full of energy and play, this crew knows how to host a party. By far our best turnouts for staff, it seemed like every OI employee came to hang with the tour. Stories were shared, beers were had, and good times were made. The most notable quality, shared among all members of this staff, is their willingness to share; their time, their establishment, their favorite places for adventure and leisure, which bring me to a point. A misconception that I’ve realized in my personal travels is that the locals like to keep their favorite spots to themselves. Too often are people seduced by the comfort of regularity and what they know. I’m learning that folks are eager to share their haunts and welcome new folks to try their favorites places. Fortunately for us, the crew at OI shared the best recommendation yet: Central BBQ in mid city. We haven’t visited many places twice on our trip. But OI and Central BBQ are assuredly two that we will visit before we bid Memphis adieu.  Take some time and go visit these folks at any of their three locations. You won’t regret it!
