Thursday May 18, Ideal Theatre in Clare Michigan.

On a cool spring evening in Clare Michigan, hunters and angler from around the state joined together to enjoy the only Michigan showing of the Full Draw Film Tour, and Mountain Khakis was there with door prizes and silent auction items.

In addition to the great film line up, attendees enjoyed drinks, donuts, demos, and door prizes plus a silent auction that raised over $2,000 for the Michigan Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers.

BHA provides a unique voice for sportsmen and women who value conservation and the future of our heritage and family traditions. They represent the challenge, solitude and adventure that only the backcountry can provide, and they are working hard with boots on the ground at all levels to ensure that our roadless areas and backcountry are protected for the fish and wildlife that thrive there.

Michigan has 3.6 million acres of federal public lands and 4.6 million acres of state-owned public land open for hunting and fishing. There are world-class blue-ribbon trout streams earning Field & Stream’s designation as the top state for fly-fishing. Additionally Michigan is surrounded by the Great Lakes, whichform the largest group of freshwater lakes on Earth by total area, and second largest by total volume containing 21% of the world’s surface fresh water by volume

With so much to offer, Michigan also has a lot at stake. Backcountry Hunters & Anglers provides a strong national voice for wild public lands to hunt and clean, healthy and accessible waters to fish. As pressures are increasingly being applied to our public lands and waters, from increased development, commercial activities and even outright hostility to the concept of public lands ownership, BHA’s Michigan members believe that the Michigan chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers can provide critical support for Michigan’s public lands and waters while engaging the Great Lakes State in the national issues at the heart of BHA’s mission.  Keep it public. Keep it wild.

Michigan BHA greatly appreciates the support from Mountain Khakis ensuring hunters and anglers can continue to be America’s conservation leaders.
