The Crappie Show

by Carlton Wing (Event Rep) on March 19, 2012

“The Crappie Show” is the first nationally televised series on Crappie Fishing on NBC Sports.

Ronnie Capps is the host who is also a 7-time World Champion crappie angler. His wife, Kelley, joins him on this particular episode where they compete and teach the finer points of crappie fishing against long-time friend and fellow crappie tournament angler Wade Hendren.

This program airs on NBC Sports (Wednesdays at 1:30 pm EST, Thursdays 11:00 am EST) as well as throughout the US and Canada on the World Fishing Network and the Texas Channel on Texas Time-Warner Cable.
It is produced by Wing Media Group whose owner is a long-time wearer of Mountain Khaki products. His wife likes the look of his pants… the ultimate endorsement!

Guys & Dolls Auction

by Gwyn MacMorris (Event Rep) on March 6, 2012

This was our 12th Annual Guys & Dolls Bachelor/Bachelorette Auction.  The event was started by a group of friends/young professionals who wanted to raise money in honor of their friend Jason Rossow who had CF, he unfortunately passed away in 2002.  The Guys & Dolls (our Bachelors & Bachelorettes) go out and solicit donations to put together these awesome date packages which are typically unique experiences such as trips, shopping sprees, sporting events, etc.  They are then the face of that date package to be auctioned off live on stage.  We request that all of our Bachelor/ettes be willing to go on at least a portion of the date.  If it is an out of town trip we do not expect them to go somewhere with someone they do not know so we suggest grabbing lunch or dinner in Charlotte instead.

Many times these packages will be purchased by couples wanting to go on the date themselves without the Bachelor/ette or a group of friends looking for a great vacation.  However there have been a couple of cases where someone has purchased a package because of the face representing it and this has resulted in a couple of marriages/families.
