Newsflash: Nicaragua is HOT!

I’ve always wanted to learn to surf—but I had exactly zero lifetime experience. I figured the best (only?) way would be to commit to a week-long immersive surf retreat. Luckily, I was invited by a group of friends who had been to Nicaragua before and knew the ropes.

What I didn’t know is that the heat in Nicaragua in the spring is NO JOKE. Temperatures ranged from 95-100 degrees daily, so I was lucky to have an arsenal of MK shirts and shorts to weather the ummmm…weather. As always, I don’t travel without an Equatorial Shirt and shorts because of their versatility, quick-drying ability and the fact that they don’t take up much room in my bag.   Without them, I would have been much less comfortable.

Also, I spent my days on the beach in my MK board shorts, which fit the bill to a “T”. Without having MK gear with me, my trip would have been much less enjoyable—and I was able to meet all my surfing goals as a result!
